Write For Us

The Hind publishes original analysis, commentary, and opinion from practitioners, scholars, and experts across the full spectrum of strategic affairs. If you have something important to say about India's place in the world — and the analytical depth to say it well — we want to hear from you.

What We Publish

We publish across four editorial verticals: Geopolitics, Geoeconomics, Security, and India Watch. We also publish Opinion pieces — argued, first-person essays that take a clear position on a contested question of policy or strategy — and longer analytical features for our research section.

We do not publish opinion dressed as analysis. We do not publish advocacy dressed as scholarship. Every piece we accept must be grounded in evidence, clearly argued, and intellectually honest — including about the limits of its own argument.

What We Are Looking For

  • Original analysis that advances the reader's understanding of a strategic question, not merely summarises existing commentary
  • Clear, direct writing — no jargon, no unnecessary complexity, no hedging that obscures rather than clarifies
  • A point of view, argued honestly and supported by evidence
  • Awareness of the counterargument — and genuine engagement with it

Submission Guidelines

  • Length: 800–1,500 words for standard analysis; up to 2,500 words for longer features
  • Format: Word document or Google Doc, double-spaced
  • Include: A 50-word author biography and a suggested headline
  • Exclusivity: We accept only original work not published or under consideration elsewhere
  • Response time: We aim to respond within 10 working days

We do not pay contributors at this stage. We offer editorial support, broad readership, and the credibility of publication in a serious policy institution.
